Top tips for finding the right Wedding Photographer

There are soooo many wedding photographers out there... how can I possibly choose?? This article covers JJ photography's top tips for finding the perfect wedding photographer in Northern Ireland.

Planning a wedding can be exciting and magical and everything you ever dreamed of......but (especially if your indecisive) it can also be overwhelming - decision after decision after decision and with so many wedding vendors to choose from its hard to know where to start! When choosing a photographer for your wedding consider 3 things: Do you like their work? Are they within budget? Would you be up for hanging out with them for the day? If the answer to any of these questions is no.. then let the search for your perfect wedding photographer continue.

Step 1 : Look at their wedding portfolio

Check out portfolios. Instagram is a good place to start, try searching for hashtags like #niweddingphotographer #niweddings #belfastweddingphotographer or if you have a venue in mind e.g #killeavycastlewedding #belfastcityhallwedding

Step 2: Make an inquiry

If you like their wedding portfolio, you maybe ready to see and hear more about their work. It's time to reach out to your wedding photographer and see if they are available for you wedding day and within your budget. Be sure to provide your wedding date when you inquire, that will save you some time if the photographer is not available on your date. Most photographers offer a range of packages from full days coverage to ceremony only... depending on your requirements & budget.

Step 3: Get to know your wedding photographer

Get to know your wedding photographer... they will literally be hanging out with you all day so its best if you don't find them to be the most annoying person on planet! Ask to set up a video call or social media is great for giving you a little insight into peoples lives/personalities.... a little creeping on tik tok or insta stories might help :)
